The three Koshino sisters have published “You Can’t Get Across the Shore Just by Looking.” Their lives have been compiled into a book!
The sisters from Kishiwada, Osaka, have had a career spanning over 50 years and
are influential figures in the fashion industry today. How did they navigate their
challenges to become world-renowned fashion designers?
“You can use your complexes as a weapon,” says Koshino Hiroko.
“You’re the youngest right now,” says Koshino Junko.
“The most important thing is the power to believe in yourself,” says Koshino Michiko.
The book is titled “You Can’t Get Across the Shore Just by Looking” a phrase their mother would often tell them. In May, a
movie titled “Godmother,” which portrays the lives of the three sisters and Koshino
Ayako—who inspired the NHK drama series “Carnation” is set to be released.
This is the first co-authored book by the Koshino sisters, who are gaining increasing
attention in the fashion world.
